So I think that one of the most humorous
things my uncle has asked me to do was, "I need you to get the hose out and
water those cactus."
Whereas I replied, "You want me to do WHAT?"
Sure, I would think that a cactus is one of the most resilient plants on this planet. But my uncle had a point. As a cactus stores the moisture and water within, and it is amazingly resilient and can last for months without any water, it does have it's limits.
As you can see here in this image, as
the cactus loses it's water, it slowly dries and wrinkles up, using up it's last
amounts of moisture before the next rain.
If they don't make it, they lose the wait, and die.
Of course the lazy person inside me says, "But if they die, then I won't ever have to water them."
Yeah, that didn't go over to well with
uncle.
So I water.
