* Black Butte Ranch *
    Black Butte Ranch is a really nice vacation resort right at the foot of Black Butte.     I went hiking up Black Butte this day, (Thursday). Black Butte is just on the East side of the Cascade mountain range. It's a short hike at about 1.8 miles but a fantastic view from the top. It was pretty cloudy in the valley so all the mountain peaks were shrouded in clouds, cramming their way through the mountains, making their way Eastward.     After I got back down I went to Sisters, a really neat little town at the foot of the Cascades and the Santiam Pass. They have maintained the whole town in that old Western style look. In Sisters I had a nice lunch/dinner at a great restaurant, The Gallery. Great service and great food. Of course as hungry a I was a Big Mac from McDonald's would have passed for a gourmet feast.
