Some of these first lightning pictures were taken shortly
after I had purchased my new camera and I was still learning
some of it's features and settings. These were all pretty much
done with some of the automatic settings. So the brightness
was rather intense in some of them. But these first shots did provide
me with the data I was able to use for all my other shots.
Learning the best options for all my exposure and aperture
settings was really helpful.
These first images were also prior to my purchase of a
remote shutter switch. So, to capture the lightning shots I
was using the longest setting of 30 seconds and I
would just wait for a lightning strike and then cover up the
lens until the time delay was finished, and the shutter would
close. Now I just use my switch, open the shutter and wait for
lightning, then close it, and open it again for the next shot.
