* Salt River Canyon *

Well, this area certainly impressed and amazed me. As many of you know, I have been to every state in the U.S. as well as many other countries. I have seen some fascinating and awe-inspiring views from all around the world. One of the most impressive locations would have to be the Grand Canyon, and I felt that no other place could compare. And while I still feel that way, I would have to say that the Salt River Canyon certainly would come close. And the thing that impressed me the most was the fact that I never knew it even existed.
This vast and massive canyon is along highway 60, between Globe and Show Low, Arizona. As I had my altimeter with me, I noticed that the highway up around  the canyon rim appeared to be around 5,000' ASL (Above Sea Level) while the bottom seemed to be around 3,500'. Certainly an impressive difference.
