Not far from Vegas is the Hoover Dam. This incredible work of architecture is a sight to behold. Although it was late in the evening, and I couldn't get any good pictures, I did manage to get some of these shots.

The first one looking across from the top, then some of the power lines that must be heading to Vegas.

This is one of the two elegant statues that look out over the dam.

I would go into more detail about the dam but I didn't stop to get any information about it. Besides, you can always check it out on the internet for yourself or watch the documentaries on TV.

On down the road I could see that the sun was beginning to come up.

Many people have asked me how I can ride at night and sometimes all through the night. It really doesn't bother me and I actually don't get quite as sleepy riding at night than I do in the day. It must be the fact that I don't have so much to see so I don't use up as much energy taking it all in. Also there's usually a lot less wind and definitely less traffic at night. The only thing I have to worry about is the animals out on the highways. I have been quite lucky so far and been able to dodge all of them.
